Are you 55 or older? Do you love working with children and want to give back to your community? We’ve got a solution for that.

Our classroom grandparent volunteers serve within our three early childhood education centers in Lincoln. In partnership with AmeriCorps Seniors, our Foster Grandparent Program provides a way for volunteers age 55 and over, to stay active by serving children in the community – volunteer stipend, meals, and mileage included!

$30,120 for a family of one
$40,880 for a family of two
$51,640 for a family of three
$62,400 for a family of four

The Community Action Foster Grandparent Program is available to all, without regard to race, color, national origin, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender identity or expression, political affiliation, marital or parental status, genetic information and military service. Accommodations may be possible for those with limited English proficiency. Enrolled Foster Grandparents may file a grievance with Community Action or AmeriCorps Seniors. The grievance procedure is located in the Foster Grandparent Program Manual. FGPs who believe they have been subjected to discrimination may also raise a claim with AmeriCorps’s Office of Civil Rights and Inclusiveness (OCRI). However, discrimination claims not brought to the attention of the OCRI Office within 45 days of their occurrence of the alleged discriminatory event may not be accepted in a formal complaint of discrimination and may be procedurally dismissed.
